It all began in 1976…
We are a band of amateur dramatics enthusiasts from around the Bromley area who perform twice at year in the village of Downe. This has been the centre of our activities since 1976 when a group of friends started the society. Celebrating more than 50 years, the Downe Arounders is the premiere amdram group in the village.
You can get involved in lots of different ways. We are all volunteers and are always on the hunt for new members. You don’t need to perform to take part as there are many other parts to play; including: Stage Management, Set Construction, Lighting and Sound design and operation, Directing, creating publicity, Front of House and Box Office, helping with fundraising or running our bar… or just coming along and joining in whenever and however you please. Dip your toe in, you might like it!
